The OSCARS Project serves as a unifying force within the European Open Science landscape, providing the framework that enables the Science Clusters to transform their individual research mandates into a shared and strategic asset for the European research community. By fostering alignment and collaboration across diverse scientific domains, OSCARS is laying the groundwork for sustained cooperation throughout 2025 and beyond.
Each Cluster continues to lead progress within its respective field, contributing its expertise to the broader European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) ecosystem:
ENVRI Cluster – Advancing the integration of environmental research infrastructures into the EOSC framework, ensuring the long-term accessibility and usability of Earth and environmental data.
ESCAPE Cluster – Strengthening the connection between astronomy and particle physics research communities through EOSC services and the adoption of FAIR data principles.
Life Science RIs Cluster – Building an Open Science ecosystem rooted in real-world applications, ensuring that biological and medical data remain relevant and accessible to the scientific community.
PaNOSC Cluster – Promoting collaboration within the photon and neutron research communities through its new Community-based Competence Centre, with a strong focus on engagement via the Open Calls.
SSHOC Open Cluster – Ensuring that the social sciences and humanities retain a central role in EOSC developments, enabling interdisciplinary and cross-cutting research outcomes.
Together, these efforts demonstrate how the Clusters, under the coordination of OSCARS, are transforming the European research landscape into a cohesive, collaborative, and forward-looking ecosystem.
