OSCARS at the EOSC Coordination Meeting 2025 - Strengthening Synergies Across EOSC Projects

OSCARS at EOSC Coordination meeting - June 2025 - picture

On 26–27 June 2025, representatives from the OSCARS project attended the 2025 Coordination Meeting of EOSC-related Projects in Brussels, reaffirming OSCARS’ commitment to foster coherence and interoperability across the European Open Science Cloud landscape.

OSCARS project manager, Friederike Schmidt-Tremmel, joined as rapporteur the break-out session 2 - Broadening the adoption and uptake of project results by scientific communities and beyond, whereas Romain David, OSCARS WP3 co-lead, contributed to the break-out session on EOSC interoperability.

As we will outline in our OSCARS upcoming deliverable D3.2 – Competence Centres Concepts and Activities, OSCARS has been building models of Competence Centres (CCs) aligned with EOSC core principles. The project draws from a rich ecosystem of initiatives—such as the Horizon2020 Cluster projects (ENVRI-FAIR, EOSC-Life, ESCAPE, PaNOSC and SSHOC), EOSC-Future, Skills4EOSC, FAIR-IMPACT, to name but a few—to co-design support structures that are community-driven, interoperable, and FAIR-by-design.

Participating in the coordination meeting has allowed OSCARS to:

  • Strengthen alignment with emerging tools, policies, support/assistance and training frameworks from other Horizon Europe projects
  • Facilitate the reusability and sustainability of proven solutions in the CC context
  • Broaden the reach and relevance of OSCARS deliverables, notably within WP3 ("Testing and Widening Uptake").

Stay tuned for insights on how collaboration at the policy and infrastructure level enhances the design of CCs that support Open Science across disciplines.
