OSCARS at the YEFC CREATE CORRECT summer school 2025

Benefits of Open Science - Slide Paul Millar presentation

On June 13th, OSCARS contributed to the Summer Corrosion Science Institute - CSI 2025, is a multi-day interdisciplinary training and collaborative event for CORRECT trainees, followed by Corrosion Awareness communication Training (CAT). The hybrid event was held in Canada, from June 9 to 13, 2025, in collaboration with the Young European Federation of Corrosion -- Young EFC, and the CREATE CORRECT programme, and combined in-person and virtual sessions to foster international collaboration and interdisciplinary learning.

CSI 2025 brought together corrosionists, scientists and engineers to discuss various topics, focusing on ethics and politics related to corrosion science and engineering.

OSCARS contributed to the session organised by Dr. Noémie Ott (OST, Switzerland) and Dr. Reynier Revilla (VUB, Belgium and PI of the OpenCorrAM OSCARS funded project), dedicated to FAIR and open data management. OSCARS representative, Dr. Paul Millar (DESY, Germany) was invited to introduce the fundamental concepts of FAIR and Open Science and discusses the perspectives and challenges associated to Open Science.
